General Information:

            The Lama Skillathon will be held on Saturday between 11:00 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the 2008 ALSA Grand National Show.  Youth can participate in the Skillathon in- between their performance classes.  There is NO entry fee.  All ALSA youth members are eligible to participate.  Cash prizes will be awarded through 6th place of each age division – Junior, Intermediate, and Senior.  Winners will be announced at the Banquet on Saturday night.  Look for location details in your exhibitor packet at the show.

The Skillathon will consist of four individual stations with various challenges suited for each age level.  Participants will rotate between each of these stations.  The stations are:  

            1.  External Parts Identification           2.  Equipment Identification and Use
            3.  General Herd Management            4.  Problem Solving On The Farm

Station #4:
Problem Solving on the Farm:  

You will be presented with a problem on your farm involving one of the above topics.  Your total score at this station will be based on how you identify and solve the problem with your animal.
